Reading Task

This week we have been reading The Apple Tree Dilemma. For our task we had to make two circles connected into each other so we could compare characters.

I chose two characters. On from TheOdd1sOut and did dad  from The Apple Tree Dilemma).

I found it easy to write the sentences.

I found it hard to take the photo.

Next time I'll add more writing and more to my circles.

Letter to The Gisborne Herald

Today of this week we've had to send a letter to the Gisborne Herald. We had to do it on a google doc first so we could show our teacher what we've written. It took me a while to finish because I didn't know what to write.

I have found it hard to know what to write.

I have found it easy to send it.

Next time I'll add more writing.

Here is my letter.

 Ni hao Gisborne Herald.

I am a student at St Mary's School which is a Green Gold Enviroschool in Gisborne next to Campion College. To encourage freshwater creatures like little crayfish to come, we need to have shade at our river. We have planted native trees but there is now a lot of blackberry by the river. We can’t plant any more because it is in the way.  Some people have tried the Fix it app and emailing them and the council aren’t responding to anything. I firmly believe the council should respond to us and spray the blackberry so we can keep planting native trees for our native creatures.

LunaPic

Today we were making pop art. First we took a photo on our chromebook, after that we uploaded it to Lunapic for a art effect to upload on Google Drawings and make it into a square to get to change the effect. Here are the steps to get started

First (Chromebook).

Click this on your taskbar

Second.

Search "Camera"

Third.

Click Camera when you have this screen at the bottom

4.

Once you have this opened click the White big button on the right with your face in it.

5: (Lunapic) (On PC/MAC/CHROMEBOOK)

Once when you get on here click upload and go to Recent chose the one you want and go to art at the top click Sketch2 and pick any layout when that's finished go to file (Don't do CTRL+S) save image and png it will download when that's finished go to upload and do the original photo repeat to get 4 different ones.

6

Open Google drawings and upload all 4 photos you took before on Lunapic and go to insert -> image -> upload from computer and recent like said before upload all 4 photos you took before on Lunapic make it into a square and there you go.

September Reflection Newsletter

Today I was reflecting on September, I am excited for the school holidays to play with my friends online and have sleepovers with them and work together on online games like ROBLOX imposter.

I was learning to add more writing to my work.

I found it hard to write the sentences because they were a bit too long.

I found it easy to find the emoji because I knew where to search it.

Next time I will change the background because it makes the words harder to read.

Here is my reflection.

Save Our World

This week we have been reading about unwanted visitors. The unwanted visitors were pests that came in to New Zealand and killed some of our native trees. Then we had to make an ad to show people what to do when they are coming into our country. I was making an ad which was to check the bags of people coming/out of New Zealand to make sure we don't have pests with us so it doesn't kill our native trees and plants.

I found it hard to make the sentences and colours because I wanted it to be a rainbow colour and it was hard to find the right colours.

I found it easy to make the trees.

Next time I'll add more writing.

Museum Visit

On Feb 11, 2020 we made sand art which was hard to do. We had to use PVA glue in a squirty bottle. This made the sand stick on better. We had to make sure we followed the lines, the lines were a picture of a waka. We then poured on the sand to cover the glue. Once the sand was on the glue lines we tipped the paper to take off the rest of the sand on the art.

What have I learnt here is my learning.

I have been learning to blog quality blogs more often.

I found it easy to find the photo of me making my art, and to add it into my blog.

I found it hard to write the sentence's, because I couldn't recall steps in order from so long ago.

Next time I will add more detailed writing.

Here is my photo

Te Wiki o te Reo Maori

This week I  have been working on a book by Book Creator. We made a Maori translation book because it is Te Wiki o te Reo Maori. My topic was Animals which was fun to do. I have never made a book before so this was my first time making one.

Check my book here!

This week I have been learning te Reo.

I found it tricky to do the audio voice recording because some people were interrupting in the background so I had to use a loud voice.

I found it easy to find the animals.

Next time I will change the size of the words because then it would be easier to read.
