Art Coloring Book - NASA Edition

 For the summer learning journey or SLJ for short, I made two images from Googles art coloring book -NASA edition which you can find here. Nasa is a space engineering company that makes rockets.

All Saint day

 For today we had made a All Saints poster, we could do it on slides or a google drawing.
I didn't find anything hard on the poster because I could just copy and paste the text and change it.
I found it easy to find a background that is easy to read the text on.
Next time I will change the background to a different color.

Frida Kahlo Art

 For the past few weeks we have been doing Frida Kahlo art she is a Mexican painter that paints mustaches on women in art form, she also is inspired by nature and the artifacts of Mexico she was born on the seventh of July 1907 and died on July 13, 1954, Coyoacán (47 years old)

Dark Ark 6

For this week we were making a slide for Deep Ark 6, I did it with Jake and we did it on a google drawing so it was easier to write everything down.
I found it hard to get everything written because I was talking to Jake when I wasn't meant to be and meant to be doing my work.
I found it easy to do the introduction because I had it written down on my sheet of paper.
Next time I'll try to do more work because I was talking too much.

September Reflection

Today we are reflecting on our learning from September.
We reflect on our learning to celebrate our learning and the work that we do.
I found it easy to add the images.
I found it tricky to write the sentences because I knew what I wanted to say but couldn't think of the words.

My Speech

For a week or two we have been making speeches about Why Mr Wolf is or not guilty for first degree murder. This got me nervous a lot just like my other speeches I have done, but I got up there and it made me feel a lot better.
I found it tricky to get the 'Why is Mr Wolf guilty' on the board because my chromebook was charging and I couldn't move it or else it would go flat.
I found it easy to get it onto my writing book.
Next time I will change my speech to a different topic because when I did 'Why is Mr wolf guilty?' I didn't have that much to do any other speech.

Minecraft Zoo

 For today we had to make a Animal Habitat or we could make a zoo  I chose a zoo because I didn't know how to make a Animal Habitat but I knew how to make a zoo.
I found it hard to make the zoo because I had to make the boxes the same size and the pillers>
Next time I will change up the zoo.

For this week we had to make robots and we were learning how to infer.
I found it hard to think of what robot I wanted to do.

Next time I would change the robot because the power cutting only happens a few times a year.

My Japan Information

This week I was learning  to skim and scan on websites for facts for our slides about Japan. What is skim and scan?  Skim  is about when you read through  story/fact site or a book to find the key words you're looking for, scan is when you read it again to find what you want.
I found it challenging to find the facts I wanted and what I needed.

Next time I would change the background and the font to what the slide is about.

Matariki

For reading this week we have been learning to compare and contrast. We have been reading about Matariki and the stories about it from different countries. In our group, we discussed the similarities and differences between all the stories around the world.  Then we had to work out how we would present our discussion on our blog.

I enjoyed listening to The Seven Kites Of Matariki.

I found it hard to get the group to do what they wanted what to do.

Next time I will try harder and make it better.

Making My Own DemiGod

For this week we had to make a Demigod and show what personality they have.

This week I was learning to use different colours that I have not used for most of my drawings and showing his personality types.

I found it challenging to get the colours and the blending so the red and orange mix.

My digital learning object shows how creative I am with my drawing.

Next time I would change the background with a scene of where he is.

Samoa

This week I was learning about Samoa, because it's Samoan Language week. We are learning to  infer which is like evidence and reasoning instead of explicit statements.

I found it challenging to get the facts onto my slide because  I would have to keep going upwards and downwards.

Next time I would change the title of the blog.

Tapa Cloth

This week my class had to make a Tapa cloth for Samoan Language week made out of crayons, card and dark brown dye. Our teacher found some designs for the class to do, I wanted to do the two easy ones because I am not a pro artist with crayons and card, we also had to practice them or we would mess up and it would look weird.

I found it hard to dye the card because the crayons absorbed some of the dye. 

I found it easy to do the designs because Mrs Naden gave us a really good demo on the board, and I done lots of practice. 

Next time I'll challenge myself and try to do some harder designs.

Sketching

 For the few past weeks we have been making Anime characters and if we didn't want to do one we could do an animals I did a wolf, it was hard to do the sketching because we had to use a video and it goes fast as and you have to keep on pausing the video to make your sketching good as it looks in the video. We had to shade light and dark.

I found it hard to copy the video onto my paper.

I found it easy to draw the outline of my sketching.

Next time I will add more explaining.

Piskel Spirte Making

This week we had to make a Piskel Sprite Animation/Image for our Cybersmart, I made a Rocket League Merc hitting the ball, and rocket league is an online soccer car game for free. I have two versions of my RL (Rocket League) Merc, One: Still, Two: Animated.

I found it hard to make the Merc going from the left side of the screen to the right.

I found it easy to make the ball falling from the top and making the Merc hit it to the right.

Next time I'll add shading and add more frames to it.

Museum Of Technology

This week we went to the Museum Of Technology and there was a lot of technology. It was mostly old cars, trucks, computers, food safes, fire trucks, tanks and ambulances. There was also a flat screen tv with old computers, radios and game consoles. I couldn't believe how old they were and I think they would take ages to load one website. My favorite thing was to climb in the old fire trucks, There was 5 groups some of them were some of my classmates mum and dad, my group had Miss Mikayla.

I found it hard to remember what we did at the Museum.

I found it easy to find the pictures of what were doing.

Next time I'll tell more of the Museum trip.

The Shark Chase

 For writing we had to make a recount what we remembered very well I hope this will you hook you into my story I have made. If it hooks you in send feedback and I may make a part 2!

I found it hard to think of what I could remember very well.

I found it easy to write down what I remembered and how to make it into sentences.

Next time I will try and make a second part for you to see what happened next.

Coding Bee Bots

For this week we have been coding BeeBots. BeeBots are like Coding robots but they have a the coding system on them and the start button, they are also shaped like a bee. These took a while to do it we got a number and we had to code it so it got onto the number, we also did a treasure hunt for the beebot and code it from 1 to 6 then to the treasure.

I found it hard to code the Bee Bot and getting to my number.

I found it easy to do place the areas for the bee bot treasure hunt.

Next time i'll show a video how to code a Bee Bot if you do not know how.

New Zealand Sign Language

 For reading this week we have been reading and learning about sign language, I made a Google Slide for our task because I am not aloud to show my face on the internet.  My google slide shows how you can make your name in NZ sign language, it also shows you how to say "Hi my name is" in sign language and "I like to play rugby". I have also added my own name Charlie, it shows pictures of each letter. 

I found it hard to get the photos of the letters to spell my name, because I needed help from Baxter he helped me take the photos while I was doing the letters.

I found it easy to take the pictures of the book, and show how to make my name. 

Next time I could record my voice and show the sign letters without showing my face.

ANZAC

This week for reading we are making a slideshow about the  war animals that helped the soldiers in the wars and summarising the facts we have learnt.  I choose Jet he is an Alsatian trained rescue dog. I didn't get much time to finish because I was sick for two days and only had 20 minutes in class to do the weeks work. 

Here is my reflection.

I found it easy to get the screenshot of Jet, I got it off the article that was linked to our reading site.

I found it hard to write the facts in my own words without coping and pasting.

Next time I will add more facts about Jet from other websites.

My Culture and Me

For this week we had to make a poster for our Culture and if we didn't come from anywhere or our parents didn't we had to do New Zealand and my family only lived in New Zealand so I had to do that one.

We presented them to the class and then had a shared lunch. Everyone brought some food from their culture. I tried the Italian bread and it was scrumptious. I also tried the dumplings. I also liked them.

I found it easy to get the facts.

I found it hard to write the facts in my own words.

Next time I will change the background.

Holy Week

This week we retold the story about Jesus dying and rising from the dead (Holy Week). We were learning to summarize in reading. We made puppets, we worked in a group. I had 4 people work on it - Baxter, Sam, Miss Mikayla and myself.

This week I was learning how to summarize.

I enjoyed making the puppets and colouring them in.

I found it challenging to get the movie done because we had done the days separately but then we had to record it all in one..

March Reflection

This week I was reflecting on March, I am very excited for the school holidays so I can play with my friends online and have sleepovers or playdates with them and play online games like Satisfactory, RoBoCraft and Minecraft Realms.

I was learning to work much more faster.

I found it hard to finish my reflection because I could not think of sentence's I wanted to add to my reflection.

I found it easy to make the background.

Next time I will change the background because it makes the words harder to read.

Te Kuri a Paoa

For this week I made a Kuri with pastel on black paper and an Apple Pencil on a iPad 6th gen with a drawing app called Procreate, Its like Photoshop but for iPad I used and apple pencil which will act like a normal pencil. It requires money $10 and I also used streamline 80% or 60% which is set automatic. I also used Monoline which is not automatic. To get monoline you need to click the brush then the "Calligraphy" on the brush tab and if you like you can do sketch a design you would like to draw.

I have enjoyed adding the pastel and using Procreate for this art.
I found it fun to make the art and using the iPad.
I found it hard to get the colors I needed to make this.

I made a mistake on here by missing a line between the two back legs and at the front legs too.

I made a mistake on this because I forgot the ears and I will add the ears and update the Procreate Kuri.

Goal Setting

This week I was learning about describing words and writing.
I enjoyed writing everything that is in my Goal setting.
I found it challenging to find different words to describe other things.

And I will update this when it comes to the end of Term 4!

My Favorite Food

 For cybersmart we were doing "My favorite sport" I didn't have a favorite sport so I did "My favorite Food" I couldn't think of what food I liked the most can you guess what it is? Me neither if you look at the slide below you'll find what it is! I hope you also like it and they taste better with tomato sauce and chips.

I was learning how to use Mote (works with school accounts or teachers).

I found it easy to copy the text I had written.

I found it hard to set up Mote for audio.

Game Chart

 For the past few weeks we have been gathering data for a graph (ex Food, takeaways and eta). We had to ask people in Room 1, then we had to go onto google sheets and put in all that data we had gathered. Then we made a bar graph or pie chart. We had to make statements about what we found out.

I did a game chart to see which game is better for an example 45 for minecraft and 55 for roblox. This shows what games boys and girls prefer what game they like the most.

 I was learning how to make a chart and how to add the percentage of what game is liked the most.
I found it hard to get all the data I needed.
I found it easy to make the pie shape for the percentage.

Sea Week!

For last 2 weeks we've been learning how to make connections between what we read. We were making a gif on Tall Tweets. Tall Tweets is a gif making website. This week is sea week
you use slides to make one. I was trying to think about a WOW fact to add and I couldn't think of one or search one up.

FingerPrints & experiments

I was learning how to make connections between what we are reading and what activities we are doing. 

This week we were reading about fingerprints and what shape they have, you can have an Arch, Simple Loop, Double Loop, Right Loop and Whorl.

 We were stamping our fingerprints in ink  into our books to see what type of fingerprints we have. I noticed everyone has a different print, if you pressed to hard on the ink pad, you wouldn't be able to see your finger print properly, you had to print it a few times to see the shapes in your fingerprint.

We also did experiments, these were to test the different  reactions of water and types of white powder, we tested baking soda, washing powder, salt and citric acid. Once we mixed these together we put the little yellow paper in to see what colour it would turn. these are our results.

I enjoyed putting in the yellow paper into the water mixture to see what color it changed! It turned from yellow to black (use Citric acid)
I found it tricky to write down the mixtures of water onto my book and the color of the paper was.

My Lenten Promise

For lent we did a lenten promise which is when everyone gives up something and has to wait till Easter. That is when Lent is over and everyone can eat their thing they gave up they can use ait gain and for my lenten promise I am giving up KFC for lent.

I was learning about waiting for easter and giving up something I like.
I found it hard to know what to give up on.
I found it easy to add the color and the glue into my book.

2021 About Me

Hi my name is Charlie J. I am a Year 6 at St Mary's in Gisborne, I am in Room 1.

I live on a farm with my Mum, Dad, my little brother and my big brother. I have 5 pets. Their names are Comet the cat, Camo the cat, Luna the dog, Diesel the dog and Jax the dog.

I like art and Prodigy. I really enjoy doing borders and drawing in my own time.

I am really enjoying playing with my friends at home and school.

My challenges are trying to get more ideas out when I am writing and doing more ➗.

I am looking forward to having a great year before I go to Campion College.

 

Kawa of care

 This week I've been working on  a task which is Kawa of care for our chromebooks. We made this so we can keep our chromebooks safe from breaking.

I found it easy to find out what to write down from last year.

I found it hard to find an image of an chromebook because most of them weren't png's.

Next time I will add more writing ideas of keeping the chromebooks safe.
