Greater Short-Tailed Bat Facts

This week the class has been making a fact file for extinct mammals I chose the Greater Short-Tailed Bat
It was fun making the fact file.

I found it easy to add the writing from the writing book.

I found it hard to find the facts to the writing book.

Next time I will add more writing


                                                  Greater Short-Tailed Bat

Classification

The Greater Short-Tailed Bat (Mystacina robusta) is part of the ancient species unique to New Zealand and the last sighting was in 1967, and is believed to be extinct  


Description

The Greater Short-Tailed Bat weighed up to around 10-15 grams which is a very light mammal, they have pointed ears, and a free moving tail. They are a mousy-grey color all over there body. They have wings to move  around on the forest floor. They had skin and fur to keep them warm in winter.


Habitat

These types of bats lived inside large hollow tree stumps in native bush area, they lived in hollow tree stumps.


Diet

These types of bats eat insects, fruit and pollen or food from or near the forest floor, the Greater Short-Tailed Bat were omnivores.


Threats.

Greater Short-Tailed Bats have declined because of habitat loss, which includes clearing of the farmers land and native forests.


Dynamic fact

Did you know that Greater Short-Tailed male bats sing to attract female bats.

Times Table Check Up

 Today I was doing the  Times Table Check Up, to see how many of my 3 times tables and 6 times tables I have learnt. 

The green dots mean I know these ones, the orange means I didn't push enter and the red means they are incorrect and I need to practise them. I will practise these ones in red by practicing them over and over again.

Faith Poster

This week I was making a faith poster for a challenge, also it was a fun challenge to do!
We are learning how to make a poster.

David Walliams

This week I was learning about David Walliams. Why? It was for this week's reading task, It was to make a fact file on David Walliams, We are also reading one of his top sellers called Slime as a class. He also used to be married to Lara Stone they have a child named Alfred Walliams.

This week I was learning how to do a fact file.

I found it easy to copy the writing for this week's task.

My digital learning object shows my goal of finishing the tasks to do.

I found it tricky to find the facts.

next time I will change the background because it seems a bit to bright.

Report Of Lions

This week I was learning how to write a report for Lions, we were given a level 3 report sheet all about lions which was all cut up. We had to read it and put it in a order and make paragraphs. First we gave it a title then we had to work out the order and numbered it. We put the ideas together these are Habitat, Description and then Dynamic Fact.
We then worked as a class to workout a success criteria for our 'reports' this included
(1) A title.
(2) To write a classification.

I found it easy to take the picture of the report.
I found it tricky to write the sentence's
I found it fun to glue the pieces together to make the report
